Clairemont Towne Square (1993)
The 30 foot high aluminum sign starts with an elliptical shape at the
very top and gradually reduces in size to a cylinder when it reaches the
ground. "this could only be done with a complex, three dimensional
compound bend" for the .090 aluminum skin. The pan channel
center id letters are pushed through the skin to accentuate the dramatic
lines of the structure. The tenant panels are polycarbonate sheets
with vinyl graphics for maximum readability. Similar conical
shapes are used in the two fiberglass 27 foot long suspended signs which
are connecting the newly built to the existing remodeled section of the
center.
